Airport All-Beverages Licenses

Privileges, restrictions, and requirements for an Airport All-Beverages License in Montana.

What is an Airport All-Beverages License?

An Airport All-Beverages License is for use at publicly owned airports served by scheduled airlines that enplane and deplane a minimum of 5,000 passengers annually. This license carries many of the same privileges as a standard All-Beverages License.

What the License Allows

An Airport All-Beverages License may:

  • Be leased to up to three individuals or entities approved by the department.
  • Use the airport terminal, or a portion of it, as the licensed premises for on-site consumption of alcoholic beverages, regardless of other businesses or activities operating within the terminal.
  • Sell packaged alcohol to go in original packaging.
  • Apply for a noncontiguous storage area.
  • Apply for a catering endorsement.

Delivery endorsement

The licensee may apply for a delivery endorsement to deliver beer and wine in original packaging, provided the delivery includes food prepared by the licensee at the licensed premises. The purchase price of the delivered beer and wine may not exceed the purchase price of the delivered food.

What the License Does Not Allow

An Airport All-Beverages License may not:

  • Concession.
  • Provide curbside pickup.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages outside the terminal area where passengers enplane and deplane (for example, a hangar).

Security Requirements

An Airport All-Beverages licensee must be able to demonstrate that adequate safeguards are in place to prevent public access to alcoholic beverages after hours. Acceptable safeguards include a lockable door or other security features such as rolling gates, locking cabinets, tap locks, or key card access.
